Design Methodology

The best design outcomes are grown through an organic system of researching, testing and drawing, which is repeated until the solution meets all the requirements for the project, including budget, scope and the need to maximise the potential of the site for all (and future) users.

A Typical project design process can be divided into four phases:

Systems

Jon Lowe Architect uses Trello to track project tasks, a QA system, Risk Management Workshops, and the Safety-in-Design Matrix to effectively manage the project from start to finish.

Design Team Meetings are frequently held throughout the process with the representatives from all sub-consultants, Client Representatives, and End User Stakeholders all contributing to the management of good-quality design outcomes, while addressing cost, time, safety and approvals. We will ensure all members have a solid understanding of the final design through the drawn image, 3D modelling, open discussion and clear reporting of the key elements of the project.

Draw → Test ideas in 3D models → Re-draw → Reduce → Refine → Represent!

Meeting Groups

On larger projects Design Team Meetings, End User Group Workshops, and Project Control Group Meetings are used to discuss and record project decisions and track outcomes.
